BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Hampton® Hotels (www.hampton.com), the international brand of nearly 1,700 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, today announced its successful collaboration with MapQuest on the new MapQuest Business Locator Enhancement. Hampton Hotels is delighted with the success the brand has achieved online with MapQuest and to be one of MapQuest’s initial test brands for the new MapQuest 4 Mobile application for the iPhone.
MapQuest Business Locator EnhancementHampton Hotels has been advertising in the Business Locator on MapQuest since February 2009 and now Hampton has gone one step further, leveraging MapQuest’s Business Locator Enhancement - an integrated on-map search tool featuring one click integration that lets users display retail locations, such as hotels, movie theaters, restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops and other types of categories and premium brands directly on their maps or along their routes.
This website feature is a valuable asset to travelers as MapQuest displays the Hampton brand logo to consumers that are already planning a trip and often looking to add a hotel /accommodations to their excursion along their travel route. The ingenious capability of this tool enables consumers to interact with the map and view hotel locations, and add one or more Hampton hotel locations to their trip.
MapQuest® 4 Mobile on the iPhone Hampton Hotel’s participation with Platform A/AOL to MapQuest 4 Mobile on the iPhone™ connects Hampton to consumers who need information via their iPhone and represents the next evolution of maps & directions on the iPhone, offering a set of unique features that simplify the mobile mapping and directions experience for consumers. Hampton Hotels has been added to the new MapQuest® place carousel which allows users to easily display hotel locations and more with a single tap on the iPhone. MapQuest created a place carousel for the application, an easy option for people to conduct one-click local category searches and for businesses to promote their brands. The place carousel features icons, called ‘place widgets,’ that allow one-tap searching for hotels, making it easy for users to find leading brands along their route or near their destination. iPhone users can customize their place carousel with any of the 20 + place widgets available, with more to come in future releases.
