NEPTUNE, N.J. - More than 30 team members from the Hampton Inn Neptune/Wall gathered last Thursday to celebrate its recent community relations recognition by franchisor Hampton Hotels. The hotel was awarded the Hands-On Hamptonality Hotel Award for its outstanding commitment and service to local residents displaced by Superstorm Sandy nearly nine months ago. As a part of the award, a $500 grant was made to the hotel's charity of choice - The Salvation Army to aid those affected by the recent Oklahoma tornadoes.

"During a time of great distress in our community, we were fortunate to be able to do what we do best - provide a comfortable place to stay, friendly service and some of the traditions of home to those displaced by Sandy," said Dominique Ervin, general manager, Hampton Inn Neptune/Wall. "We are truly thrilled and humbled to win the first-ever Hampton Hotels Hands-On Hamptonality Hotel Award, and even more excited to help out another community in need through this donation. It was important to our team to pay it forward."

The Hands-On Hamptonality Hotel Award is given semi-annually to one hotel that goes above and beyond to build stronger, more connected communities through acts of service. Recipients are selected by Hampton team members worldwide and are given a trophy, a sponsored team member celebration and a $500 grant to be given to the hotel's charity of choice. The new Hampton Inn Neptune/Wall was nominated for opening its doors almost two weeks ahead of schedule to welcome more than 250 Neptune residents whose homes were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate guests - even providing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings.

Hands-On Hamptonality is Hampton Hotels' signature community relations program that aims to inspire acts of service, large and small, to help build stronger and more connected communities through the spirit of hospitality.
