INDIANAPOLIS - General Managers from Schahet Hotels descended on Orlando, Fla. last week for their 14th Annual Leadership Summit. Orlando was purposely selected so that company managers could volunteer and interact first-hand with two world-wide service organizations they have supported over the years, Give Kids The World and Clean the World.

Twenty Schahet general managers from Hampton Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Residence Inn hotels in the Indianapolis, Ind. and Schenectady, N.Y. areas spent a half day volunteering in Kissimmee, Fla. at Give Kids the World, a non-profit organization that exists to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to Central Florida attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need. Not only did the Schahet team provide 60 volunteer hours, they presented a $10,000 cash donation directly to the organization.

"Thanks to the employees and guests of Schahet Hotels, two more families will now be able to experience a week of magical memories that will last a lifetime," said Pam Landwirth, President, Give Kids The World.

Earlier in the week, the Schahet management team was welcomed to Orlando by Clean the World, a soap and bottled amenity recycling program, where they toured and worked volunteer shifts.

"Schahet Hotels was one of the first management companies to adopt Clean the World's program back in 2010," said Oscar Gonzalez, Partner Relations Director for Clean the World. "Since Joining the Global Hygiene Revolution, Schahet Hotels has donated over 13,000 pounds of discarded soaps and shampoos, which have been recycled into over 38,000 bars of soap and distributed to impoverished people worldwide, preventing death causing hygiene-related illnesses every day."

Schahet employees and their guests have embraced these organizations wholeheartedly, donating time and resources to give back in ways that are uniquely suited to the hospitality industry.
